MIUI 12 has been rolling out to eligible devices over the past few months and we’ve been staying on top of that with our dedicated MIUI 12 tracker.

If everything goes according to plan, chances are that this rollout will be concluded at the end of this month. Or at least that’s what Xiaomi is planning.

It is going to be a busy month for Xiaomi’s software team as there are a number of devices awaiting this update this October. These include the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Mi Mix 5G, just to mention a few.

One other device whose update to MIUI 12 has proved elusive is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. This econobox was unveiled back in February 2019 with Android 9.0 out of the box. It has since been updated to Android 10 with an upcoming MIUI 12 build.

Back in June, we saw MIUI 12 released for Redmi Note 7 Pro users in India. However, that was then. Fast forward three months on and unfortunately, there is still no sign of the wider rollout.

Users of the device in India have recently been treated to a limited Stable Beta release but that only applies to the said market. This, much to the frustration of users.

A quick scroll through the social forums and you’re bound to come across distressed users of the Redmi Note 7 Pro who are asking Xiaomi about this update.

Sadly though, these complaints are being met with conspicuous silence from the relevant teams over at Xiaomi. This is unlike the company because usually, the company would respond to such complaints, giving users something to hold onto.

This silence is confusing for users as we don’t know what it means. Is there a catastrophic bug with this update that’s causing this delay? Has the company canceled this update altogether and it doesn’t know how to face users?

That said, seeing as the company already set its eyes on the end of October for the completion of this rollout, users of the Redmi Note 7 Pro, along with other devices that haven’t received this update, might want to wait until the end of this month before they can ‘officially freak out’.
