Original story (published on August 24, 2020) follows:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 released with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed and has since then picked up the Android 9 Pie and Android 10 update. The latest Android 10 update brought Samsung’s One UI 2.1 skin to the device which offers a bunch of new features and improvements.

But like any other Android system update, the update was not made available in all regions at the same time. One such region is Canada. Galaxy Tab A 10.5 users in the country are still waiting for the OTA update to arrive on their devices.

Up until now, there was not much information shared by Samsung or by any mobile carrier in Canada surrounding the release of the One UI 2.1 update for the device. But that has now changed since TELUS has shed some light on the matter.

According to the Canadian carrier’s software update schedule, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 will be receiving the Android 10 update on September 1. Therefore, if the carrier sticks to its plan, Galaxy Tab A 10.5 owners in Canada should get the Android 10 update by next week.

Unfortunately, other carriers such as Rogers and Fido have not yet updated their official software update schedules. But taking into account past trends, we expect to see other carriers release the Android 10 update for the device at roughly the same time.

Of course, we will continue tracking the situation and will post an update when other carriers in the country share more information regarding the Android 10 update for the Galaxy Tab A 10.5. Meanwhile, keep an eye out on our Samsung Android 10 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.
