New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 1, 2020) follows:

Asus ROG Phone 3 is a powerful game-ready smartphone which offers Android 10 out-of-the-box. It was released back in July and the first update brought multiple bugfixes along with AirTrigger for gameplay, three-finger screenshot, and Outdoor mode features.

Another update started rolling out to the ROG Phone 3 earlier in August which enabled VoLTE on CTM in Macao and offered fixes for screen black shadow among other things. Also, users of the ROG Phone 3 have been experiencing the black crush and broken refresh rate issues.

However, a ZenTalk moderator later stated that the issues are being looked into but it could take weeks to fix them. Now, a new update is rolling out to the ROG Phone 3 which brings a bunch of fixes along with the VoWiFi/VoLTE support.

Those on the Global ROG Phone 3 variant can now grab the update as it is live over the air. Here are the release notes for the update version 17.0823.2007.58:

However, another bug seems to be affecting ROG Phone 3 users where saved contacts are not getting synced with the WhatsApp Twin app. A ZenTalk moderator has addressed this issue stating that they are looking into it.

Thank you for the feedback.

We are looking into the same.

Also, while users have mentioned that there is some improvement in terms of the black crush issue after the latest update, some are still facing it. For this, the moderator has stated that they are still fine-tuning the screen and it will be improved further. Here’s the actual comment:

The adjustments made in .58 was locked in a while back in order to get it in into the already planned .58 update. We’ve continued to tune the screen since and we’re still tuning. It will improve further.
