The Xiaomi Redmi 9 picked up the update to MIUI 12 a while back but, unfortunately, Xiaomi had rolled back the update recently by rolling out an MIUI 11-based firmware. Thus, users have to once again wait for the stable MIUI 12 build to be released.

Apparently, it seems the wait will have to continue for a while since Xiaomi is now rolling out a new update for the Redmi 9. The new software is rolling out for the Global and the Chinese variants of the device and is based on MIUI 11.

The update is rolling out as version 11.0.7.0.QJCMIXM for the Global units and as version 11.0.7.0.QJCCNXM for the units with the China ROM. Much like the previous update, there’s not much new that comes along with this new software version.

Matter of fact, the changelog for the update is exactly the same as the previous update we had reported about. Nevertheless, if you want to take a look at what’s new, we’ve added the changelog below:

Other
Optimization: Increased system stability
Optimization: Reduced system lag

As you can see, it’s a pretty short changelog. So don’t expect to see any new features or major improvements. The update is rolling out over the air so it may take a while before it shows up on your device.
