The stable MIUI 12 update is now rolling out to many Xiaomi devices including the Redmi 9 and Mi 9T Pro. Xiaomi is done with the first round of its stable MIUI 12 update rollout schedule while the second round is due to begin in August.

Now, the Chinese Redmi 9 units are receiving the stable MIUI 12 update while the Global and European units are yet to receive it. So, you can finally get a taste of the stable Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update if you managed to get your hands on a Chinese unit.

The Mi 9T Pro variants have been receiving the MIUI 12 update as well. The Global variant received the update earlier in the month along with the Chinese variant, which is known as the Redmi K20 Pro, followed by the Indian variant.

The Mi 9T Pro (Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro) has now received the latest update globally as no more variants are left. However, the wait for the stable MIUI 12 update is still on for Global and European Redmi 9 units.

Update 1 (August 17)

Xiaomi seems to have rolled back the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi 9 in China. This is because the phone is receiving a new update with the software version 11.0.5.0.QJCCNXM that is based on MIUI 11. Check out more details regarding the update here.

Update 2 (August 31)

IST: 12:05 pm: Xiaomi Redmi 9 MIUI 12 beta stable update has been re-released in China for a limited number of users. The update comes with software version number V12.0.1.0.QJCCNXM which is same as the previous beta release which was rolled back due to the bugs involved. Read the entire coverage here.

Update 3 (September 14)

IST 10:53 am: While the Chinese variants of the Redmi 9 have received the stable MIUI 12 update, users with Global variants are yet to get Xiaomi’s latest skin. Now, a new MIUI 11-based update has been released for global units as version 11.0.8.0.QJCMIXM which brings the September security patch.
