Xiaomi announced the latest MIUI 12 update in late April 2020. At the time, the software was limited to select handsets sold in the Chinese market, but things changed a month later when the global MIUI 12 was announced.

The company scheduled the official release of MIUI 12 in China for June 2020. As expected, the Mi 10, Mi 9, Redmi K30/Pro and K20/Pro series led the way.

The story is pretty much the same with respect to the rest of the globe. Following the global MIUI 12 launch on May 19, Xiaomi rolled out the first test versions to select Mi 9, Mi 9T, and Mi 9T Pro handsets a week later.

However, these specific MIUI 12 updates were directed at Mi 9, Mi 9T, and Mi 9T Pro variants running the global ROM, leaving those on the European (EU) ROM gawking. This ends today, at least for those using the standard Mi 9.

The device is now eligible for an update to MIUI 12. The version available is labeled beta stable, which is essentially the same version that will roll out widely in case no bugs are discovered in this early release.

The incoming Mi 9 MIUI 12 update has software version 12.0.0.9.QFAEUXM, but once again, not everyone will receive this update right away. No changelog has been provided nor do we have the download link for manual installation.

Of course, these details should be available sooner than later, at least once Xiaomi is confident that the firmware is stable enough to use as a daily driver on all Mi 9 handsets across Europe.

The MIUI 12 update should also come soon to the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro sold in these regions. We will keep an eye on it and let you know when the rollout begins.
