Original story (published on April 17) follows:

Taiwanese manufacturer, Asus, has had a hard time with the Android 10 update for its second-generation ROG phone, Asus ROG Phone 2. To start with, users of this smartphone had to participate in a whopping 9 betas before the first stable version finally arrived.

Considering that there were been so many betas, it was expected that the stable version will have little or no issues. However, the stable Android 10 update which rolled out for Asus ROG Phone 2 arrived with a truckload of issues.

At the time, we scrolled through the forums and found out that users have been reporting issues such as aura lighting with audio wizard still not working, missing tablet mode in TwinView Dock, Google Pixel and AOSP code issue reported to Google, overheating issues, and Adobe Lightroom app keeps crashing.

Other complaints included an unresponsive fingerprint scanner on the lock screen, gesture navigation not working with 3rd party launchers and battery issues, etc.

Cut to now. A recent report on Reddit confirms that Asus has released a new update that takes care of some of the issues. Sadly, this update does not address all the issues that have been reported by the device users so far, but we expect more follow-up updates to serve that purpose.

-Fixed the issue where icon shape setting in developer options do not work
-Fixed the problem where time info on the status bar disappeared when receiving a call and unlocking the device
-Fixed the problem where startup time is occasionally too long
-Fixed setup wizard not completing issue
-Removed Twitch streaming function in Game Genie

Asus probably concentrated on the issues that affected more units. Nevertheless, if you are on Android 10, you may want to download this update. As of now, we can verify that this update (version: 17.0230.2002.32) is available for Asus ROG Phone II (ZS660KL).

However, since OTA updates are usually staggered, it may take some days for your device to get a notification. You may also want to check “System updates” in [Settings] >[System] to verify if a new firmware is available. Alternatively, you can upgrade manually.

Have you gotten the notification for this update? Did you install it? What are your observations? Let us know in the comment section below.
