Original story (published on Jan 20) follows:

To date, more than twenty Huawei/Honor smartphones are running on the latest EMUI 10 based on Android 10. The first to receive the update was the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro followed by the Mate 20 series.

Somehow, Huawei managed to sneak the Nova 5T in there, with the device receiving its stable EMUI 10 update in mid-November 2019.

The update was limited to a few people in Europe, but going forward, the Nova 5T EMUI 10 rollout is spreading to more markets. Folks in Europe’s Belgium, Germany and Slovenia can confirm that the OS is now available to download.

The OTA is arriving as EMUI 10.0.0.184(C431E3R1P2) and weighs in at a huge 4.65GB, at least for those coming from EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie.

If you already received the initial EMUI 10.0.0.168(C431E3R1P1) update, you should receive the new B184 as an incremental update weighing in at 788MB. It brings bug fixes, system stability improvements, and a new December 2019 security patch.

Huawei Mobile Australia has also published a tweet on its official Twitter account confirming that the Nova 5T EMUI 10 update is now available to download via the HiCare app alongside the P30 and Mate 20 series.

Note that even though the Nova 5T Android 10 update is now rolling out widely, the availability of the OTA download notification on various models/regions may vary. Granted, your best shot of getting the OS right away is via the HiCare app.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
