The Bleach 20th anniversary project presentation is just around the corner. Bleach fans all over the world are hyped with the upcoming projects. This includes the anime adaptation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and the serialization of Burn The Witch.

Tite Kubo, the creator of both projects shared his thoughts regarding his upcoming work. He shares how he came to the conclusion of making the series.

Burn The Witch

Burn The Witch is a one-shot manga created by Bleach creator, Tite Kubo. It was his first project after he finished Bleach in August 2016. The 62-page one-shot manga was released in July 2018 as part of the franchise’s 15th year anniversary. The story is set two years after the event of Bleach chapter 686.

Tite Kubo’s comment on Bleach 20th anniversary

Weekly Shonen Jump posted on their official Twitter account some statemen from Kubo. Tite Kubo did not plan on serializing Burn The Witch. He said he thought everyone forgot about Burn The Witch since it has been so long since it was released.

Kubo showed Burn The Witch to an intimate audience, which includes only his family and close friends. As a result, his editor saw Kubo’s work and encouraged him to serialize and animate it. Tite Kubo will now be working on the Burn The Witch manga and anime designs.

Kubo also shared that the Burn The Witch will be a short-term serialization. In fact, he already finished the manuscript and added that by the time we read the series, he will be playing Animal Crossing game.

The announcement of animating the Thousand-Year Blood War as part of the Bleach 20th anniversary project was also a surprise for him. Needless to say, Kubo and countless fans are excited about this announcement.

I am a university teacher who can't get enough of anime and manga. My class' group names are based on my favorite characters, especially from One Piece. I read manga or watch anime every chance I have. I started reading manga just a few years back and I was hooked the first day. I usually follow fan pages and am consistently given a Top Fan Badge. I also love baking and cake decorating and trying to make anime-themed cake designs.
