New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 10, 2020) follows:

It is always a welcome and pleasant thing when you receive an update on your device. Even more so when the update bumps your phone’s Android version to a newer, flashier build.

This has been the joy of many Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite users who have recently been receiving an update to Android 10 on their Android One-powered devices. This is especially bearing in mind that initial reports hinted towards there not being an Android 10 build for the Mi A2 Lite at all.

For some users, however, this joy has been short-lived. A number of Mi A2 Lite users have reported not being able to boot their devices after the much-awaited update to Android 10.

A quick scroll through the forums and you will come across countless threads of users who got stuck in a bootloop after installing Android 10 on their Mi A2 Lite devices.

I got the update this morning, I installed it and everything as usual, but once it rebooted my device the Android One boot screen showed up, and then some lines appeared on the screen and they all slowly faded to black. If I hold the power button, the phone vibrates and the android one boot screen shows up again, but the lines suddenly appear on the screen and the whole screen fades to black again.

What should I do?

I’m honestly pissed, I waited for that update for a long long time, and now that we’ve got it, it broke my phone. My Mi A2 Lite is stuck in boot loop after Android 10 update. Is there any way to install the OS again? It wasn’t rooted or anything like that.

the Mi A2 Lite just received the Android 10 update. But after installation it broke my phone. When the phone starts booting it gets stuck after the Android One screen and restarts. Anyone else having the same problem and knowing a solution?

This issue really is widespread. Xiaomi is yet to officially respond to these users despite there being a serious uproar brewing up on the same.

Luckily, thanks to the community forums, there might be a way out for users whose devices have been stuck in the said boot loop. Thanks to one user on Reddit, users can try out this workaround.

Affected users might want to try booting into Fastboot mode by holding down the Power + Volume Down keys. From there, follow these instructions.
