Over the past few years, LG has earned a reputation for updating Android devices at a slower pace than other major smartphone makers. And, the same seems to be turning out true for the Android 10 update as well.

Though LG rolled out its first Android 10 update (LG G7 ThinQ US unlocked variant) in the last week of January, it is still to roll-out the latest Android OS on most of its devices, including LG G8X, which came out in November last year.

If latest evidence is anything to go by, then users may have to wait more for the LG G8X Android 10 update. A recent post on the Sprint community forum suggests the LG G8X devices only recently got the February security patch.

Though roll-out of the February security patch does not mean any delay or postponement in the release of Android 10 update, it does cast doubt on its imminent release.

This should not come as a surprise as LG’s Android 10 update plan already lists LG G8X Android 10 update for the second quarter. Though the Android 10 update plans were shared by LG’s Italy branch, one may assume similar timeline for other countries as well.

In separate news, Android 8.1 (Oreo) support arrived for LG G5 as unofficial LineageOS 15.1. The unofficial latest LineageOS comes latest sources and Root option enabled in development settings.
