New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 18, 2020) follows:

Huawei added the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro to its EMUI 10 beta program back in mid-January 2020 following a beta registration exercise that spanned over a period of one month. However, this was limited to the Chinese market.

A week or so later, the Android 10-based beta firmware was reportedly offered to owners of the Honor 9X in markets outside China, among them Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Honor 9X EMUI 10 beta global recruitment

Until now, a month down the line, the stable Honor 9X Android 10 update hasn’t arrived yet. This, obviously, doesn’t sit well with many owners of the device and as a result, they’ve been throwing tantrums, more so on Twitter, in regards to the availability of the OS.

@HiHonorIndia @HuaweiEMUI When will we get Android 10 based EMUI update on Honor 9X? When can we expect this? Please answer!

@HiHonorIndia When will we receive Emui 10 for 9x

Prior to today, all Huawei/Honor did was guarantee concerned Honor 9X owners that the EMUI 10 update based on Android 10 was indeed coming. However, there wasn’t much info on when to expect it, at least until now.

Sure, we still don’t have the exact release date of the Honor 9X Android 10 update, but according to Honor India support on Twitter, we can expect the stable version to arrive pretty soon.

Apparently, the company is in the ‘final stages of releasing the software’. Of course, the software hasn’t been released, so I’ll assume this meant the beta firmware is approaching the final stages ahead of stable rollout.

We will follow up on this matter and update this story when the official rollout begins. Meanwhile, check out this article to find out if your Honor 9X is eligible for the upcoming EMUI 11 based on Android 11.
