New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 17, 2020) follows:

The Poco F1/Pocophone F1 Android 10 update first arrived about a month ago for select users of the device in what Xiaomi calls Stable Beta.

A week or so later, the wider rollout kicked off, but again, the process was staged, meaning some Poco F1 users were always going to receive the update ahead of others.

Even so, the wait has been pretty long for some. To date, many Poco F1/Pocophone F1 owners are still waiting for the update to Android 10 to arrive and apparently, Poco India’s General Manager, C Manmohan, has an explanation for this delay.

Sure, it’s typical for a major OS upgrade to be rolled out in phases. Matter of fact, this could be the reason every Poco F1/Pocophone F1 unit out there hasn’t picked up Android 10 yet.

But going by C Manmohan’s language, almost three weeks after the Pocophone F1 Android 10 update started rolling out widely, it may still take longer for everyone to get hands-on with it.

As I write this, the update is indeed still arriving on Pocophone F1 units around the globe, which does add weight to the argument that the rollout is staged. Not long ago, someone in Palestine reported having received the OTA as MIUI 11.0.4.0.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
