HTC won’t just give up no matter what. Even with Google acquiring the entire division that created the first-generation Pixel, the Taiwanese company is still hanging in there.

The HTC Desire 19s is the latest handset from the company. As the name suggests, this is a variant of the Desire 19+ and for the most part, the duo remains the same but for a few tweaks here and there.

For instance, the Desire 19s has a weaker Helio P22 chipset with a memory combo that doesn’t go past 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The device, like its Desire 19+ counterpart, has a triple-lens main camera and in the latest software update, HTC is making the system even better and more useful.

Arriving as version 1.04.709.6, the update, which has been confirmed in Taiwan, brings several new features to the Desire 19s camera, among them QR Code scanning, pro mode, and panorama mode.

Below is a summary of the changes included in the latest update (translated from Taiwanese using Google Translate):

– Improved system performance
– Added QRcode scanning function for cameras
– Camera Pro mode adds dynamic, macro, and night setting shortcuts
– Added camera panorama Mode

Over to the HTC U12+, the phone is still the most recent premium offering from the company despite having been around for about a year and a half. HTC didn’t refresh its flagship series, but this doesn’t mean no more time even for the aging U12+.

Like the Desire 19s, the HTC U12+ is receiving a software update in Taiwan. The update is rolling out over the air as software version 2.50.709.3 and weighs in at close to 250MB.

Below is a summary of the optimizations the new HTC U12+ update brings, but again, like the Desire 19s, it has been translated from Taiwanese, so please excuse the errors.

– Updated the function to automatically adjust battery usage to optimize battery life.
– Update the automatic brightness adjustment function, the system will automatically adjust the screen brightness according to the environment.
– System enhancements.

As you can see, the incoming U12+ update is all about battery optimization for longer usage. Unfortunately, Bluetooth issues still persist even after this update.

Before you download the update, HTC recommends that you should back up your Calendar app data using your favorite backup tool to avoid losing it. This issue is also affecting the U11 and U11+ after the latest updates.
