At a time when OEMs are scrambling to bring the latest Android 10 update to their smartphones and tablets, the same cannot be said of their Android TV counterparts.
Google recently announced the arrival of Android 10 TV, but even with the OS available, it could take ages before any current Android Pie TV device picks up the stable version of this OS.
Speaking of Android Pie TV, this update has only been rolling out to various Android TV devices from several weeks ago. Xiaomi has been the busiest of them all, rolling out the stable Pie TV update to the likes of Mi TV 4A, a variety of its 4K Mi TVs, and even its set-top box, the Mi Box S.
Sony joined the party earlier this month with its own Android Pie TV update to various 2019 and 2018 Bravia TVs. The company even explained why some Sony TVs won’t receive the Pie update, but as usual with OTA updates, not every eligible model has picked up the new OS so far.
On the brighter side, the Japanese company can confirm that a wider rollout of the new Sony Android Pie TV update has just commenced. The update is now available in the UK on the following 2019 Bravia TV series: AG9, ZG9, XG85/XG87, and XG95.

Feature no longer supported
According to Sony UK, the latest Android Pie TV update went live yesterday and should be rolling out to the eligible units as I write this. On top of the updated OS, the incoming Sony Android Pie TV update also resolves a couple of issues on Bravia TVs:
– Resolves Netflix ultra-high-definition (UHD) 4K or Dolby Vision playback issues when connected to A2DP Bluetooth headphones
– Resolves sound issues when playing specific audio formats via ARC, and improves overall compatibility with certain ARC devices

OTA updates may take several days to hit all units, so you may have to wait until next week or even thereafter to get this particular OS. If your Bravia TV is missing from the list, Sony has shed some light on the matter here.
