Asus rolled out ZenFone 6 Android 10 update earlier this month and quickly followed the update with a pair of hotfixes to address a couple of issues triggered after the ZenUI 6 update arrived.

First was the hotfix to address the sound quality issue after the update to Android 10 followed by another with a fix for Asus Launcher and Settings bug and improvements to the fingerprint unlock feature.

For some reason, Asus has yet to address the bug that tripped Play Protect and rendered Google Pay useless for some, but we expect it to be fixed in a future software update.

Perhaps the Google Pay bug will be addressed together with yet another bug that has been annoying ZenFone 6 owners since upgrading to Android 10 a few weeks ago.

Apparently, taking a screenshot has become impossible on the ZenFone 6 and it’s pretty frustrating for people who capture lots of screenshots. So far, it seems the issue is affecting users in various markets.

Zenfone 6 2019 can’t take screenshot. When I try to take a screenshot it looks like this (image below). Can someone help?

Chiming in, an Asus ZenTalk moderator suggested restarting the phone as a possible fix, but the affected person says this doesnt fix anything, including clearing the cache.

I already restarted the phone, and I cleaned the cache too. The version of the phone is EU.

On the brighter side, Asus has already picked up this issue and will address it in a future ZenFone 6 update, but we don’t know which one or when it will arrive. As you wait for the bug-fixer, Asus has provided a workaround for the ZenFone 6 screenshot bug and it is as follows:

1. Enter developer options
2. Turn off this option after finding “Force Desktop Mode”
3. Reboot

In the ZenFone 6 update that addresses the screenshot bug, Asus may have to include another bug-fixer for the timezone issue that has just come to light in the recent past.

Most of the affected persons are in South America, where the ZenFone 6 reportedly defaults to the wrong timezone even when the correct time zone is set manually. Not even enabling auto-update by network fixes the issue and its annoying.

The same happens here… If I manually select new timezone, after seconds it changes automatically to são Paulo one (that is currently wrong because it has summertime and we are not having it this year). And option to use timezone from network is turned off… It started to happen after last upgrade to Android 10..in 9 it was working fine for me.

Whether Asus will address this issue in the next ZenFone 6 update is unknown, but given it has yet to be acknowledged officially, the wait might be a little longer. We will keep an eye on the developments and let you know when the bug-fixing update arrives.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
