Apex Legends’ new Halloween event started on October 15 and with it comes the new Shadowfall Limited time mode. The mode is event special and will come to an end after 3 weeks from its start.

The Fight or Fright event also started on October 15, and will be ending on November 05. The Apex Legends Collection event, as the name suggests, will be a collection event that’ll come with a whole lot of content, new cosmetic items, challenges and a double XP weekend.

The new event of Apex Legends will also come with a new Limited time mode called Shadowfall. The new mode will bring back the Kings Canyon with a bit of a twist. The details from the devs about the new limited time mode are as follows –

Darkness descends on Kings Canyon in Shadowfall, a warped version of the Apex games hosted by a mysterious figure.

At the start of a match, you and 34 other solo players will drop into an eerily-lit Kings Canyon and fight to the death… with a dark twist. Once you die you will respawn as an undead version of your Legend and join the powerful “Shadow Squad”.

As part of the Shadow Squad, you will lose your ability to use weapons and your legend abilities will be stripped, but in return, you will be given increased movement and jump speed, along with a brutal melee attack. You’ll also have the ability to scale walls and be given unlimited respawns via skydive.

The battle rages until there are only ten living Legends left, who must then join forces and make it to an evac ship while the Shadow Squad attempts to stop them at all costs.

To win as a Legend requires a bit more than just skills. The Shadows in total will be 25 after 10 legends are left standing. As we know Shadows have enhanced melee, you need to keep them at a distance.

Playing the mode ourselves, we know that Shadow melee deals about 150 damage on an average. This seems a bit too much because any player with Level 1 shield won’t be able to survive even a single hit.

This is where some tricks come into play. First of all comes the weapons you need to carry. In the time played and managed to win both as legend and a shadow, the best weapons of choice should be an LMG and EVA-8 Auto shotgun.

This is due to two reasons – you’ll be able to mow down multiple shadows using the high magazine size of the weapon and even if someone got to you in the close range, EVA-8 Auto should be more than enough to one shot them.

Next up is the legend selection. Until Respawn fixes this mode, the best legends to win this mode are Wraith and Pathfinder.

While Pathfinder is our recommendation because of his grappling can come in handy to escape the horde of shadows trying to hunt you down. But even if you aren’t comfortable with Pathfinder’s grapple, Wraith’s tactical can also be helpful to escape overwhelming situations.

Now, the evac ship is inbound and you have to make it to the ship. First of all remember, you don’t have to kill to win.

Using Wraith’s portal or path’s grapple can get you to the evac ship safely. Do not get caught up shooting the Shadows, it will only attract more Shadows and will make it more difficult to make it to the evac ship in time.
