October security updates for Nokia 3.1, 3.1 Plus, 5.1 & 5.1 Plus rolling out

The joy of owning an Android One device is receiving regular and timely software updates. This is what Nokia Android phones offer on top of their affordable prices across the board.

HMD Global has already rolled out the stable version of Android 10 to the Nokia 8.1 following months of beta testing, becoming the first with a Snapdragon 710 chipset to receive the new OS.

Nokia 8.1 Android 10 update includes September security patch

For some reason, though, the Nokia 8.1 Android 10 update came with September security patches. Sure, the device should receive October patches sooner than later, but it’s still hard to fathom why Nokia would include an older security patch in a new OS update.

A bug-fixing update is expected from Nokia following the many issues that popped up after the Nokia 8.1 Android 10 update. If anything, this update could tag along the latest October security patch, but we don’t know when it will arrive.

While Nokia 8.1 users wait for their October patches, those using the Nokia 3.1, Nokia 3.1 Plus, Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 5.1 Plus are speaking a different language. The four are receiving the latest October security patches in various markets across the globe.

The incoming Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 3.1 Plus October security updates are identical in size weighing in at 86.7MB. Although they also have the same changelog, the underlying build number is 3.25D for the former and 2.25M for the latter device.

Below are the download links you need to grab the update for manual installation.
