Lately, Xiaomi Redmi Y2 software updates haven’t been the best ones for owners of this device. Sure, Xiaomi did well to unveil the device, also known as Redmi S2 in China, running the then-new Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

As tradition dictates, the Redmi Y2 was expected to receive at least one major Android OS upgrade. While this update has since been pushed to the device, it came with quite a number of issues.

In fact, Xiaomi had to terminate the initial Pie rollout in China after it emerged that it was rolled out accidentally, but the stable rollout later resumed as MIUI 10.3.3.0. While this was happening, the global Redmi Y2 was in limbo.

Owners of the Redmi Y2 had to wait until early last month to receive their update to Android Pie as MIUI 10.3.3.0. The OTA came with a bunch of Pie-inspired features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.

One annoying issue is about the system launcher that constantly force-closes/restarts every time one closes an app or even when minimizing an app. Some users say this issue is related to 3rd-party launchers and can be fixed by reverting to the system launcher.

Now.. it’s working fine.. that force close issue… It was with Poco launcher I switched back to simple launcher and a restart..and its working fine now..but network problem still there.

But there are even more issues being raised by various users ranging from excessive battery drain, poor network connectivity/slow internet speed, background apps force-closing, poor RAM management, and so on.

This update has many bugs…!!
1. Ram management is very poor. We can’t switch one app to another app. It crashes every time. This is the main problem for multitasking.
2. Battery is draining very quickly.
3. Clock widget has an issue of loading sometimes.
