This story is being continuously updated….new updates are being added at the bottom…..

Couple of weeks back, Xiaomi pushed the June security update to Redmi Note 7 Pro device. As we highlighted in our earlier coverage, the update first rolled out to the Chinese variants as MIUI V10.3.8.0 (PFHCNXM), followed by the Indian units as MIUI V10.3.10.0 (PXFHINXM).

Along with the June patch, the update fixed a media volume-related glitch, wherein volume couldn’t be restored after receiving a notification and also optimized Mi Cloud sync across multiple devices.

Cut to now. Few weeks later, the Chinese OEM has released the July security patch for Redmi Note 7 Pro units. The new MIUI global stable update bumps the version from MIUI V10.3.10 to V10.3.12.

The patch also fixes a gaming-related issue wherein hands-free call duration didn’t display in Game Turbo mode. Here’s what the complete changelog reads:

[Game Speed Booster]

But that’s not all.

Apart from what the official changelog states, a lot of Redmi Note 7 Pro users across the official help form & Twitter have confirmed the July update also fixes the camera lag and dropped frame rate while recording videos issue they encountered after receiving MIUI 10.3.9.0.

Basically the device’s rear camera began to lag while recording videos. And as we mentioned in our last coverage, a similar problem was reported after MIUI 10.3.7.0 update on Redmi Note 7 Pro, the patch which wasn’t circulated to all.

So the problem existed for months, but after MIUI 10.3.9.0, the number of reports suddenly proliferated. Here’s a glimpse of the problem behavior that was shared by one of the affected users.

Going by reports coming from Redmi Note 7 Pro users after installing the currently rolling out V10.3.12.0 update, the camera lag issue has finally been resolved. Apart from that, problems like device heating and hanging have also been taken care of.

However, issues like battery drain, frame drop in slow motion video recording, image processing time in 48MP etc haven’t reportedly been addressed.

As is usually the case with firmware updates, they’re rolled out in batches, so the July patch may take time to make it to all units. Those of you who don’t wish to wait for the OTA can install the update using the following link.
