New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Chinese tech giant Huawei has been going through a challenging period since the US government acted against them. But standing against the odds, the company has been trying to deliver the most in terms of firmware updates during the three months extension they’ve been granted in the region.

EMUI 9, as you may know, is Huawei’s Android 9.0 Pie based customized UI, which the company plans to push to a lot of devices. In fact, the company has already released it on millions of units. Not only that, it’s upgraded version EMUI 9.1 (that Huawei P30 series come baked with) is also targeted for many phones.

Until now, the company did not clearly state which phones will be getting EMUI 9 and which will be upgrading to the latest EMUI 9.1. But going by reports, Huawei’s Ecuador subsidiary has spoken on the matter sharing the list of devices that either already are or will be bumped to EMUI 9.0 & 9.1.

Going by what is highlighted by some Latin American tech publications, Huawei phones namely P30 Lite, P20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 Lite, Mate 9 & Y6 (2019) are the devices that have either received or will be receiving EMUI 9.0.

On the other hand, devices namely Huawei P30, P20, P20 Pro, P20 Lite, P10, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 Lite, Mate 9 and P Smart 2018 either already have been or will be upgraded to EMUI 9.1.

I know what you are thinking. Why are Huawei P20, Mate 20 Lite , Mate 20 Pro and Mate 9 included in both lists. Possibly these phones will be upgraded to EMUI 9 first followed by EMUI 9.1.

Coming to why we feel this list is purported is firstly, despite a lot of media publications highlighting this, we couldn’t locate any authentic source where Huawei Ecuador shared this information. Secondly, Huawei Y9 (2019), which is nowhere mentioned in this list, has already received EMUI 9.

Lastly, as you can see many device names have been repeated for both EMUI 9 as well as EMUI 9.1. So things are quite confusing at the moment. We are not sure how legit this list is, although it has been highlighted by some reputed Latin American publications.

What is your opinion about this list? Will you be happy if this upgrade plan turns out to be true? Share with us by dropping a comment below.
