This story is being continuously updated….new updates are being added at the bottom…..

The long-awaited Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 didn’t have a good start on Realme 2 Pro devices, as the update left the phones bootlooping . The Oppo subsidiary acted quickly by pulling the defective update, and came up with a better version of it in no time.

However, a quick look at discussion platforms like Twitter conveys many Realme 2 Pro users haven’t yet received the followup build. Well that’s because Realme clearly stated the patch will take a couple of weeks to make it to all units. Here’s what Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said regarding this:

Could be possible, the company did not want to risk a major bug or issue troubling all Realme 2 Pro phones again. That’s why they limited the update’s initial enrollment through registration (as we mentioned in our last coverage).

Coming to Realme 2 Pro’s non-pro kin, Realme 2, the company has begun the beta enrollment for Android Pie ColorOS 6. Realme 2 is the Chinese OEM’s last year’s low-end phone that shipped with Android 8.1 (Oreo) layered with ColorOS 5.2. The phone still awaits it’s first major OS update.

Same goes for Realme C1. While its elder kin Realme C2 comes with ColorOS 6 Lite out of the box, Realme C1 bears Android 8.1 Oreo and ColorOS 5.2 since its inception. Realme C1 is yet another low end phone that is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset, just like Realme 2 devices.

However, things are changing now as the official enrollment process of ColorOS 6 beta testing has been started for both Realme 2 and Realme C1. Coming to what new Realme 2 and C1 users will get to see in Android Pie ColorOS 6 beta, here’s what the changelog reads:

System
· Added notification icons in status bar
· Added a new navigation gesture
· Added app drawer to ColorOS launcher
· Added Riding Mode
· Android Security Patch Level: June 5th, 2019
UI
· Updated UI of the notification panel
· Updated UI of AI Board
· Updated default theme
Applications
· Added realme Theme Store

According to Realme Community’s Product Manager, Android Pie ColorOS 6 stable builds for both Realme 2 and Realme C1 are planned to be released in another three weeks, i.e in July. Meaning, both Realme 2 and Realme C1 will get their first major OS update in the coming month.
