ZenUI 6 is the newest Asus customized UI that comes in their current flagship ZenFone 6 out of the box. Among the older ZenFone devices, ZenFone 5Z will be the first company device to get ZenUI 6 along with the stable Android Q update, which is already being beta tested on the device.
For a quick refresher, ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL/ZS621KL) is part of ASUS’ 2018 ZenFone 5 series. ZenFone 5Z is a high-end device fueled by Snapdragon 845 processor, and shipped with the then-available Android Oreo. In the beginning of this year, 5Z was bumped to last year’s Android 9.0 Pie.
And very soon, ZenFone 5Z will get to taste the newest Android dessert in serving, Android Q. But for now the phone is receiving a new monthly update which brings in the May security patch. FYI the update that was released by the OEM last month brought along the April security patch.

But the currently rolling out May update bumps the version from 90.11.162.58 to 90.11.162.72. The update also enhances sound quality and optimizes system. As per the official announcement, here’s what the release notes read:

P.S. ZenFone 5Z users have been complaining about a couple of issues. Firstly, since the January security patch got live, user have been complaining of fast charge not working or device slow charging despite using the original/boxed adapter and cable.
