Samsung Galaxy S10 preorder delays, here’s the status so far
NOTICE: We’ve created an archive of all major developments related to the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup. We are continuously updating that page with latest S10e/S10/S10+ news so that you don’t need to search for information related to the device on daily basis. Head here to access that page.
This year, Samsung has presented four different models under the moniker of Galaxy S10. It is a significant jump from last few years, when there used to be just two variants.
Besides the regular Galaxy S10 and the over sized Galaxy S10+, we now have the Galaxy S10e, which serves as a budget oriented model.
On the other hand, there is this top end Galaxy S10 5G. It is based on S10+, with some notable additions like a 5G modem, 6.7 inch screen, larger battery (4,500 mAh) and quadruple rear cameras.
Samsung has not disclosed the pricing or the availability of the 5G model yet. To the contrary, the LTE models could be pre-ordered in the US since mid-February.
The early reservation also featured a trade-in offer for exchanging old phones. On top of that, users would get a flat $50 credit to use to purchase accessories (which did not go according to the plan).
End users could order directly from Samsung store during the pre-order period to avail the exclusive credits. Later on, it was possible to order via carriers and other retail partners like Best Buy.
The initial estimated delivery date was March 8th. In last few days, multiple users reported about early shipping (as well as delivery) confirmations.
I ordered the unlocked S10 from Samsung. I got text notification this morning that it shipped on 3 March. Tracking with FedEx confirmed that information and gave a delivery date of 6 March.
Some users are having different experiences though. We are talking about delivery dates pushing back to March 15, even March 22!
That’s the delimma I’m in now. Mine is still in preorder ship by March 22. I need to go out of town for about a week sometimes later this month but i can’t plan the trip because I don’t know the shipping date. I already cancelled one order and a day later ordered again and the shipping date moved from the 15th to the 22nd. If I cancel again it may move to April. I checked and it doesn’t look like getting FedEx to even hold it is an option.
Anybody familiar with Samsung Pre-orders? All the Carriers and Best buy will have them on the 8th. Samsung says will be shipped by the 15th. Are they normally that far behind? If they dont ship til the 15th it’s gonna be a long 2+ weeks waiting …
The bundled Galaxy Buds will arrive by mid-April for some users.
Some users are lucky enough, as they are getting the phones earlier than ETA.
Ordered unlocked S10+ from Samsung.com on Feb 23rd. Just got a FedEx shipment notification. Being delivered in 2 days on Mar 6th. Location – USA
My original expected shipment date was Mar 15th. So thrilled to get the early shipment along with the Galaxy buds and the extra charger accessory. Everything is being shipped together.
While we would certainly not hope that the estimated delivery date magically advances from late March to the first week of the month for everybody, but there is always a possibility. Do monitor the tracking details.
