If you are a Tumblr refugee who is still searching for a good Tumblr alternative, we suggest you check out our exhaustive list of Tumblr alternatives.
We recently updated this list with a platform called newTumbl (it’s key selling point is it lets you retain your Tumblr user/blog name regardless of the name’s availability). Interested in knowing more about newTumbl, head here.
And now, we are adding another name to our list of Tumblr alternatives. The platform is called Cumblr, which went live on December 31 last year.
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is here! We are ready to release our website to the public! Head… https://t.co/8tSnd3Pqpn

As per the official website:
The Website is designed and intended solely for adults who are interested in and wish to have access to visual images, verbal descriptions and audio sounds of a sexually oriented, and erotic nature
When a platforms aims to court those interested in adult content, it’s content policy becomes all the more important. To start with, only those who are 18 years of age or older are allowed to use Cumblr. Here’s what the US-based company’s content policy says:
Content is prohibited if it:
Is involuntary pornography
Is sexual or suggestive content involving minors
Involves animals in sexual interactions with humans
Is suggestive of incestuous interactions of direct blood relatives
Encourages or incites violence
Threatens, harasses, or bullies or encourages others to do so
Is personal and confidential information
Impersonates someone in a misleading or deceptive manner
Uses our website to solicit or facilitate any transaction or gift involving certain goods and services
Cumblr also has an official presence on Tumblr, and has been answering queries there for quite some time now. Here’s are some of the Q&A which we thought are worth sharing here.
Q. Are you guys going to allow ACTUAL porn? Almost every site that’s trying to recruit old tumblr users doesn’t actually allow porn, only nudity. Please tell me you will be different. Also will online sex workers be allowed to attach links to their paysites?
A. Porn is allowed! Our legal team is currently looking into your other question
Q. Will you be able to do multiple pics in one post
A. In the beginning it will be singular photos per post. We will consider the functionality of adding multiple pictures per post in a future release!
Q. Please make an app guys, this is what is missing from all other alternatives
A. We will be making an app. We are focusing on getting the web app going first, then optimizing on mobile using a progressive web application. In the months to come, we will be able to transition this over to native iOS and Android Applications as well
Q. Are you associated with cumblr.xxx ? If not, why are they using your name and what will you do about it?
A. We are not associated with Cumblr.xxx. It is a shame that people are using our trademark to make sites that serve a similar function. Everyone who is making a “tumblr alternative” should be banding together in this time. Many other sites have reached out to us for potential collaboration in the future.
Legally speaking; Cumblr™ is a Trademark of Cumblr LLC, owners of cumblr.com. Anyone using this exact name is under direct trademark infringement
Q. This has GOTTA be a joke and there’s got to be a catch; like a flood of Russian porn or porn bots enough to choke a horse or sudden random fees. So, let’s get some transparency. Although I’ve lost a whole lot of my life with tumblr’s asinine decision, I’m not prepared to start again so it can happen again. Prove me wrong!!
A. Looking forward to doing so! We have posted some info on how we plan to monetize the site in our update from last week. Cumblr will be free, for everyone, forever. We will offer some type of optional paid subscription for people who wish to monetize their own blogs, etc. We may offer additional optional paid features in the future as well.
Q. If posts are flagged by the community, members can simply flog a sexuality or gender they don’t agree with until its automatically removed. Same for fandom ships people don’t like. I understand that it’s riding on the good folks trying to get rid of the pedophiles, but to members of the lgbtq community it could leave them unable to post content.
A. We definitely agree, this can become an issue. However, it will be rocky in the beginning, but this type of functionality must exist to ensure we keep cumblr safe
