[Feb 27 update] Here why ecobee server is down...
There are new updates that have been added at the bottom of this story….
Are you an ecobee user and wondering just like the following users why the service is down?
Worry not. The server outage was planned in order to conduct maintenance/renovation. As stated by the company, today the server will be out from 2 AM and 6 AM EST. Meanwhile, the ecobee thermostats will continue to work as expected, but the app, web portal and third party apps may not be available during the above-stated period of time. Also, Geofencing will not be available.
The Canadian home automation (thermostat making) company took to Reddit to inform their users about this pre-planned server outage.
While reverting back to one of the users, ecobee also mentioned that there will be a gap in data, that will be taken care of.
Those of you interested can keep track of the real-time developments by heading to their official website here.
