Original story (published on November 25, 2022) follows:

The end of the year 2022 is near, so the most popular music streaming apps are in full rollout of the annual ‘musical personal tastes summary’ for its users.

Each service names the summary differently, although in essence they are similar. Spotify users are receiving ‘Wrapped’, Apple Music users are receiving ‘Replay’, and YouTube Music users are receiving ‘Recap’.

However, currently multiple YouTube Music users are reporting that Recap 2022 is not working, showing up or disappeared for them.

Try this workaround

Fortunately, there is a workaround that is helping those affected by the problem. Basically, all you need is to enable animations on your phone through system settings:

try enabling animations in your phone’s settings – it just fixed mine

For some unknown reason, disabling animations on the device causes a malfunction in YouTube Music 2022 Recap. Fortunately, the YouTube team is already aware of the problem and working on a fix.

    Update 5 (January 02, 2023)

18:11 pm (IST): Some YouTube Music listeners allege that their Recap statistics are wrong since the featured artists or songs are not the ones they listened to the most (1,2,3).

The #Recap of @youtubemusic said that the song I heard the most in 2022 was “Voltei Pra Mim” by Marina Sena. Then when I go to check my Last fm today, it turned out that “As It Was” was the one I heard the most.
