[Updated] Yellowstone season 5 not on Paramount Plus & Amazon Prime? Here's the reason

Paramount Network’s one of the most successful shows, Yellowstone, is back with season 5 which was scheduled to air on November 13.

Naturally, some people took to Paramount Plus to watch the show only to find that it wasn’t available on the online streaming platform.

That said, a number of reports (1,2,3,4,5) have emerged showing people’s agitation upon discovering the unavailability of the latest season of Yellowstone on Paramount Plus in the United States.

Why do you make it so hard to watch your show? I have a @paramountplus account but can I watch @Yellowstone? Nope! Ridiculous!

Sigh… so now Yellowstone is only going to be on Paramount Network, not Paramount Plus? And if I don’t have a provider for live TV, I’m just out of luck?

Apparently, the owners of Peacock (NBCUniversal) had purchased the streaming rights to Yellowstone in 2020 even before Paramount Plus was released.

It gave Peacock streaming services exclusive rights to stream the show where viewers would pay a nominal subscription fee.

But many users already bought a Paramount Plus subscription thinking that if the show is available on Paramount cable TV, it will automatically be present on the streaming platform too.

Yellowstone also unavailable on Amazon Prime

Even those on Amazon Prime with the Paramount Plus add-on are disappointed to find that Yellowstone season 5 is not available.

Even with an Amazon Prime subscription, viewers weren’t able to get their hands on the show (1,2,3,4,5).

What the hell, @paramountnet. I’ve tried watching through my Paramount+ subscripx on Amazon Prime. Can’t. Tried newly subscribing thru the @paramountplus app via xfinity. No go. Why is is this so difficult?! How can a fan watch now? #customerfail

To further rub in their wounds, Amazon Prime is asking subscribers to part with $39.99 to watch the entire Season 5, which many find ridiculous.

Unfortunately, there has been no comment on the issue regarding the unavailability of Yellowstone on Paramount Plus and Amazon Prime so far.

In that case, viewers with an existing subscription to the said streaming platforms have to overlook this fact and need to buy Peacock’s subscription if they are in dire need of watching the show.

10:08 am (IST): One of our readers has confirmed that the Season 5 of Yellowstone works on Paramount in Canada. They said that it was available on Amazon until this season and now it’s on Paramount.

01:00 pm (IST): Many Peacock subscribers are confused (1,2,3) as to why the fifth season of Yellowstone is not available on the platform.

According to a user, the season will only be accessible on Peacock once all the episodes have aired on Live TV.

Yellowstone Season 5 will be released on Peacock sometime after the finale episode of Season 5, just as it did in previous seasons.

04:42 pm (IST): Some are confused as to why Yellowstone is not available on Paramount Plus. Apparently, it is owing to the fact that Paramount Network is different from Paramount Plus.

So, in order to watch Yellowstone, users are required to turn to Paramount Network’s channel, its website at paramountnetwork.com or its Paramount Network app.

02:01 pm (IST): Many users are now reporting (1, 2) that the episode 4 of Yellowstone season 5 is not available on Amazon Prime.

Unfortunately, Amazon support didn’t provide any ETA as to when the next episode of Yellowstone will be released.

01:51 pm (IST): According to a report, the Yellowstone mid-season finale (Season 5, Episode 8) has already aired on Paramount network last week. It’s worth noting, the series is currently on a break.
