The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was unveiled back in February 2018 running Android 7.1.2 out-of-the-box. The device has since been updated up to Android 9.0 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 on top.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which, while a little underpowered in 2020, is still a fairly capable chip. Since the device has already received its two major Android version updates, there’s no official Android 10 for it.

Thanks to the developer community, your device’s end-of-support does not mean that you will no longer enjoy new software builds on your unit. The same goes for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. There are countless Android 10-based custom ROMs for the Note 5 Pro in the community.

Today, owners of the device have something very interesting to check out. Thanks to the developer community, we now have one of the very first Android 11 ROMs for the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

A YouTube video by the Tecnobuzznet channel explores Android 11 running on the device and it runs pretty smoothly. The developers even managed to incorporate the stock MIUI camera which seems to work pretty well.

This build is based on Android 11 Beta 2 update and carries the July 2020 security patch. Also, please note that while the video is pretty detailed, it is in Hindu.

The fact that this was done in the first place is such an impressive accomplishment. As always, such custom ROMs are installed at the owner’s risk and being based on an unreleased version of Android, there are bound to be bugs.

If you’d like to install this Android 11 build on your Redmi Note 5 Pro, below is the download link, courtesy of Speedo.
