In the last two decades, Xbox is one of the few brands that has revolutionized the gaming industry. Last year, Microsoft sold more than 8.75 million units of the Xbox Series X/S.

That said, Xbox has been gaining more popularity thanks to Microsoft bringing in several new titles to the console this year. However, a few days ago, players had complained about not being able to load any games.

And as if this wasn’t frustrating enough, Xbox users are now reporting that the Looking for Group (LFG) category is filled with spam bots (1,2,3,4,5).

If you didn’t know, Looking for Group is a kind of bulletin board that helps players find other players to play games with.

You can either create a post on the Xbox community and form a team or join an existing group of people and party up.

Every time I make a looking for group post I instantly get 5-10 bots interested saying the same sort of thing and this happens to multiple people I know. This problem has gotten a lot worse recently out of nowhere seemingly and it makes it a lot worse to find other players. It would be nice if Microsoft would step up and do something about it.

LFG Posts Spam/Advertising Question. Hi, I try using the looking-for-group posts and I get a lot of bots spamming/advertising. One of them caught my eye though. They ask you to friend request before playing… What happens if you send these bots a friend request on xbox? Why do they want that?

Unfortunately, Microsoft is yet to officially comment on the matter. That said, if you see spam bots in Looking for Group category, make sure you report the account and re-open the LFG post.

Best you can do is report the account and re-open the LFG post. There is a recent surge in bots which happens time to time.

Also, it looks like this is not a new problem, with some saying the same was happening with messages sometime ago.
