Microsoft’s Xbox app has been a popular platform for gamers to access a wide range of games, connect with friends, and access exclusive content.
The ability to play games across numerous platforms such as the Xbox console, Windows PC, or even mobile devices with the Xbox Cloud Gaming feature makes Xbox Game Pass an appealing option for gamers.
Xbox app not recognizing Ultimate subscription
However, some Xbox app users are reporting an issue where the app is not recognizing their Ultimate subscription after the latest update (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).
The Ultimate subscription is a premium service that offers gamers access to over 100 high-quality games, Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Game Pass for PC.
However, a section of Xbox app users is experiencing difficulty accessing their Ultimate subscription benefits, even though they have paid for the service.
Users say that the Xbox app is not recognizing their Ultimate game pass subscription on the app and is asking them to purchase a new one.
When they go and check their Microsoft accounts the subscription is still valid for the time period they bought for and shows still active.

The issue seems to have emerged after the app’s latest update, which has caused frustration for many gamers who rely on the app to enjoy their favorite games.
Xbox or Microsoft support is yet to acknowledge the Ultimate subscription issue so it is unclear when a fix will be deployed.
