New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 27, 2022) follows:

Developed and published by The Farm 51, World War 3 is a modern military FPS online multiplayer game that lets you play in real-world locations including Warsaw, Berlin, Moscow, Smolensk, and Polyarny.

World War 3 is available on Microsoft Windows. And ever since its release in 2018, the game has become quite popular in the gaming industry, thanks to its advanced ballistics system and vast customization options.

However, players have also been reporting different kinds of issues with the video game such as poor audio quality, invites not working, matchmaking issues, and website not working to name a few.

Having said that, game devs frequently conduct server maintenances to deploy the latest software updates and keep things running smooth or avoid frequent downtimes.

However, it appears that the recent World War 3 server maintenance wasn’t exactly what gamers were expecting.

World War 3 ‘[151] Something went wrong’ error

Just a few hours after the maintenance, many World War 3 players started encountering an error (1, 2, 3, 4) stopping them from accessing the game.

The error message says ‘[151] Something went wrong’, while others also say that they are stuck at ‘Initializing interface’ screen.

Here are some reports for reference:

I’m getting the Error[151] “something went wrong” all the time when trying to play Custom Play – Tactical Ops. (Source)

Still/again error 151 in the morning, matchmaking is not possible at the moment. Take your time dev’s, but do a iron fix to this ❤️‍🔥 (Source)

Just a few hours ago, support had informed players that the maintenance had been completed and servers should be back online.

However, it appears that the recent server maintenance did more harm than good as players are now unable to access the game itself.

Fortunately, World War 3 support didn’t take too long to acknowledge this issue. Responding to a complaint, they have confirmed that the team is working to resolve it. However, there’s no ETA for the fix.

Regrettably, we haven’t come across any workaround that might help you temporarily resolve the World War 3 ‘[151] Something went wrong’ error, so you’ll have to wait until devs come up with a definitive fix.

We will keep an eye on the latest developments regarding this glitch and inform you if and when we come across anything noteworthy by updating this story.

Update 1 (October 4, 2022)

06:55 pm (IST): Here’s a potential workaround suggested by one of those affected that might help you fix ‘[151] Something went wrong’ error. You can check it out below.

I’ve only tested this on my account a few times but once I got into the game where I could choose a game mode to play it always crashed for me while searching for a game.

It didn’t crash for me if I queued for a game and then went into the customization tab. It found a lobby every time. Lemme know if this works for you guys as well. (Source)
