World of Warcraft players getting stuck on character creation screen, issue acknowledged

World of Warcraft, the successful MMO born as a spin-off of the Warcraft saga, has a solid base of players who access daily to enjoy new adventures.

However, there are times when certain issues prevent players from logging in, and sadly that is happening now.

Currently, many people cannot play World of Warcraft as the game sends them to the character creation screen, where they are getting stuck.

According to multiple reports, once players attempt to login or load any of their characters, they are being sent directly to the character creation screen.

Once in that section, they are unable to do anything else as they get stuck. The only option left for those affected is to exit the game.

Hi there! Is anyone experiencing this bug when trying to log in? I’m getting thrown into create character and I cannot escape, it just keeps on sending me to create a character.
If anyone has any idea of how I should be able to log into any character please let me know, I have already scanned and repaired+ quick rs’ing the computer.

Today i was playing normaly but when i tried to change character, im automaticaly forwarded to character creation menu. After pressing “Back” or pressing ESC i get to main menu, but intantly forwarded back to character creation menu.

Apparently, it all started after a recent patch (10.1.5 update).

Fortunately, the Blizzard team is already aware of the issue and working on resolving it. However, there is no ETA for a fix yet, so players will have to wait a bit longer.

A Blizzard employee also points out that game masters (GMs) are unable to resolve the issue on their end. So, players should not open support tickets.

PS: There is no need to open a ticket at the moment as game masters are unfortunately unable to fix this on their end, however if this were to change, I’ll be sure to update this post.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon and World of Warcraft players will be able to access it again without problems.
