World of Warcraft is a popular MMORPG that came out in 2004. Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, it is set in the fictional realm of Azeroth that resides in the Warcraft fantasy universe.

Since its launch, the game has received eight major expansion packs, with Shadowlands coming out in 2020. One thing to note here is that the game has a large loyal player base, with developers ensuring that it stays fresh even after 21 years.

But these updates have also caused some bugs and issues such as the recent issue where WoW players on Mac were unable to update their game or Battle Net launcher or the mythic gear upgrade issue.

That being said, players are reporting a new issue that is causing frustration amongst many. While this is not a bug, many World of Warcraft players say they are receiving spam calendar invites from boosting sites.

While some thought that it was because of their Guilds, other World of Warcraft players say they are getting calendar spam even though they are not part of any guild.

An issue which has probably been talked about a lot recently, but better we keep bringing it up until Blizz takes a good look in the mirror and creates better solutions. For the whole expansion, I’ve seen more advertisements for boost selling than legitimate raid groups on group finder. Most of the time it’s easy to dismiss as it’s not official raiding hours but it’s still pretty annoying if you want to find a legitimate raid group you can join and do your part as you’re supposed to, instead of buying a carry.

The player added,

There could be over 20 advertisements on group finder for current content “KT 40k Sylv 60k, both blahblah…” and only four “proper” raids ongoing. And new advertisements pop up each minute even if I spent the next few minutes just reporting and adding these boost sellers on my ignore list. So these methods which Blizz tells us to do “keep reporting” and “just ignore” aren’t very helpful, nor they solve the root of the problem.

They abused my calendar too, luckily I pay for access to the game so I managed to report them and it had disappeared the next time I logged in so all’s well that ends well. Nah it’s not, it’s boost spammers mass inviting people via calendar events, happened to me on AD and I know 100% it wasn’t my guild because my guild only does events via discord and never uses the in game calendar and neither does my RP only guild offer pvp boosts to the entire realm

Thankfully, Blizzard CS EU shared that they were in fact aware of the issue and are asking players to keep reporting it via in-game support feedback. However, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

As always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matters and update this space once we hear more from the developers.
