Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Surge staff and Exhilarating takedown to be addressed in upcoming update

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players are reporting increasing issues with the Psyker class weapon, Surge Staff, and the Veteran class skill, Exhilarating Takedown. According to the reports, both of them are bugged and not functioning as intended. However, the devs are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix.

The Nomanus Mk VI Surge Force Staff in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a powerful weapon used by the Psyker class. It allows the player to charge the staff and release lightning, which can strike several enemies, including staggering bigger elites.

However, there have been discussions about the Surge Staff needing improvements, such as having more control over who the secondary attack hits and making the lightning attack jump to more enemies while prioritizing specials/elites.

Some players have expressed concerns about the Surge Staff’s reliability and balance compared to other staves in the game.

Additionally, there have been reports of bugs and issues related to the Surge Staff. Some players are reporting that the staff is dealing unprecedented levels of damage that are disrupting the fair ecosystem of the game.

Other than the staff, there are also reports about the “Exhilarating Takedown.” It is a skill associated with the Veteran class.

There have been reports and discussions about this skill being bugged and causing players to take more damage. This issue has prompted players to modify their Veteran builds to avoid the negative effects of the Exhilarating Takedown skill.

The skill seems to be related to precision strikes with the plasma gun, and players have expressed concerns about its current functionality and the unintended consequences it brings, such as increased damage taken.

However, there is some good news; both of the issues have been picked up by the devs and are currently under investigation, and a new fix will be issued soon.

According to the official statement, the devs have promised that the fix for the Surge Staff and Exhilarating Takedown will be issued in the next hotfix.
