War Thunder is an immensely popular game that has garnered a massive player base over the years. It is a free-to-play multiplayer game that allows players to engage in epic battles across various landscapes and terrains.
One of the key attractions of War Thunder is the ability to connect and play with friends from all over the world.
War Thunder Friends list not working
However, lately, there have been reports from players that the ‘Friends list’ feature is not working correctly (1,2,3,4,5).
A player’s Friends list is an essential aspect of War Thunder, as it enables them to add their friends and join them in-game.
But, due to this issue players’ Friends lists have disappeared or it’s completely empty, causing much frustration among the War Thunder community.
Furthermore, while players can send and receive friend requests, nothing happens when they accept them.
I’m unsure if this is just a localized issue, but a mate and I have both just had our friends list cleared, with what I’m guessing is an internal error causing any new friend request attempts endlessly bouncing between recipient and sender (and vice versa.).

I logged on to war thunder today and I went to my friends list and It showed I had no one added. I’m not sure this is has happened to other people or not just wanted to share this?

Potential workaround
Here’s a potential workaround that might fix this issue for you. All you need to do is create a chat room and invite your friends there:
Create a chat room (I used closed) and have your friend/s join. You can invite them to squad from there.

It is essential for the game’s developers to address the issue promptly and provide a permanent fix to ensure that players can continue enjoying the game with their friends.
