Rakuten Viki is a popular video streaming service founded in 2007. It offers a wide range of shows and movies subtitled in nearly 200 different languages.

It includes Asian drama and movies such as Korean drama, Chinese drama, Taiwanese drama, Thailand drama, Korean Variety Shows, and more.

You can stream content directly from the website (Viki.com) or through its mobile app on Android and iOS. Moreover, it is also available on platforms such as Roku, Android TV, Fire TV, and Apple TV.

Viki app not working or crashing on Roku

However, lately, many users are reporting crashing issues with the Viki app on Roku devices after the latest 11.0.0 update (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

After the latest update on Roku devices, the app has become completely unusable and crashes every time users try to log in. And those affected have taken to Twitter and Viki’s community forum to raise their complaints.

I tried to troubleshoot but nothing is working. The app won’t open at all on my Roku. I deleted and reinstalled it twice, checked for updates and restarted my Roku. All the other apps work fine. (Source)

While the other apps seem to be working perfectly fine, it appears that there is something wrong with the Viki app.

Fortunately, Viki support has acknowledged the crashing issue on Roku and said that the team is working to resolve it. In the meantime, users can stream their content on the official website or other supported apps.

09:44 am (IST): Viki support on Twitter said that it’s taking longer than expected to fix this issue. Moreover, the team is working hard to resolve it.

09:33 am (IST): Viki support on Twitter has informed users that they are still investigating this issue. However, they did not provide any ETA for the fix.
