Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…

Original story (published on May 31, 2021) follows:

Valorant recently revealed a lore cinematic called Duality that provided more insight into the world of Valorant and the fight for Radianite.

This cinematic was accompanied by a new freebie – the Duality player card that is only available for the next 48 hours. It shows Jett, Yoru, Phoenix, Viper, and Cypher ascending into some portal and looks pretty cool.

To grab the card, players must visit the redeem.playvalorant.com website, login to their Riot Games account, and enter the “YTILAUD” code.

However, as it stands, the Valorant Redeem site is currently not working at all. After getting stuck on loading for a while, it redirects to a “BrowserUnsupported” page and throws the “503 Service Unavailable” error.

@PlayVALORANT are you going to do anything about the redeem page because it’s been down for twelve hours now.

@PlayVALORANT Trying to get the new duality card and it kept giving me Gateway Error 504 whenever I would try to redeem it and now it’s saying I have reached the max redeems for it?

For the uninitiated, the 503 Service Unavailable Error is an HTTP response code indicating that a server is down or is temporarily unable to handle a request.

It could be possible that a huge surge of visitors has resulted in heavy congestion which has caused the Valorant Redeem website to go down.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any sign of an official acknowledgment as of the time of this article’s writing so it’s unclear as to when the issue will be fixed.

There is just a 2-day window to get the Valorant Duality Player Card so waiting for Riot Games to sort this mess out is definitely not a plausible option.

Instead, you can try alternative methods to visit the site yourself. A couple of users have reported that they managed to access the site by using a VPN:

I was trying it earlier and I was thinking the same thing, so I connected to a vpn and the page loaded in two attemps…you can try that way too.

If that doesn’t work, then your best bet could simply be refreshing the site over and over again until it finally loads:

Some users have also reported issues after redeeming the code. In such a case, you might want to simply head over to your inventory as the player card should already be there.

Update 1 (June 01)

11:25 pm (IST): Valorant has finally acknowledged the down time of the Valorant redeem website and issued a statement:

Update 2 (June 02)

11:25 am (IST): While the issue has been officially acknowledged, Riot Games has now mentioned there’s no ETA for the fix.

Yup, this is a known issue currently, tho we don’t have an ETA on when it’s gonna be back up. 🙁 Even so, the time limit for the code was removed, so you should be able to remove it afterwards as well.

Update 3 (June 03)

The website is back into action, but addressing the glitch will still take time. Here’s what Valorant has to say:

Still hoping to grab a DUALITY player card? We think our code redemption site is up and running. If it goes down again, we’ll do our best to bring it back to life.

For players who tried to redeem the code and got an error, we’re still working on a fix.

Update 4 (June 04)

Incoming is the latest status update on the matter according to which Valorant is still not able to manage the traffic in case of code redemption. Here’s what they have to say:

We’re sorry for the code redemption struggles! Our site just can’t handle the force of your love. We’re working on a solution to provide you the redeemable content. Stay tuned.

They also added:

If you’ve already tried to redeem the card and it didn’t work, sit tight. We’re working on getting it to your account

Apart from this ongoing issue, many are encountering ‘Chat Room Not Connected‘ error.

Those affected can try to fix the glitch by restarting or reinstalling the game, updating the WiFi router, running Valorant as an administrator, or can checkout the basic troubleshooting steps here.
