Malware attacks using fishy links and spam messages have grown rapidly in recent times. A big chunk of the population gets compromised every year due to these attacks.

Out of all the techniques, malware attacks via spammy inbound links are the easiest to conduct.

A fraudulent message has been circulating on multiple UK carriers that breaches through the security and fetches all the sensitive information.

Here’s what the text message from the scammers read.

DHL: Your parcel is arriving, track here: (fishy link)

Millions of users who visited the link attached to the messages have been compromised. These fake messages arrive disguised as DHL Delivery and lure people into clicking on the link by claiming that the parcel is arriving.

An advisory has already been issued by the Vodafone UK, EE, Three, and O2 networks, warning subscribers to stay extra vigilant in order to avoid any mishap.

The spammers are now aiming at users from Sky Mobile and Virgin Media with the exact same Flubot malware.

This malware has the potential to access banking details, extract OTPs and passwords, make phone calls, and even taking over the phone completely.

In light of this malware attack, Sky Mobile and Virgin Media, both have warned their subscribers not to fall for this scam.
