Twitter keeps introducing new features every now and then. These features generally aim at improving the overall users’ experience.
For instance, Twitter recently announced that videos, images, and GIFs can all be shared in the same tweet.
Likewise, the ‘Status’ feature was added to let users give more context about the tweets with a simple label.
Twitter posts with ‘Status’ disappearing
However, many users (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been reporting an issue where the “Add status” feature is preventing new tweets from showing up in their feeds.
Same problem with tweets I’ve marked with a status. Disappeared from timeline, but if I’ve a link to the tweet/mentioned someone, they’re able to see it.

Hey @TwitterSupport, my Tweet status options disappeared. What did I do? Am I in trouble?

The ‘Add status’ feature lets users add a status topic to tweets from a predetermined list to provide more context. Some of the labels include Spoiler alert, Need advice, Hot topic, and more.
However, posts with ‘Status’ keep disappearing or don’t post at all. But the tweets show up normally when posted without using the feature.
Some reports also suggest that the ‘Add status’ feature is no longer available to use.
Give me back the current status feature please it is my favorite thing ever 😭😭😭😭

Affected users have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to post a tweet with a status but to no avail.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, support has acknowledged the issue where Twitter posts with ‘Status’ keep disappearing or aren’t posting for whatever reason.
We hope that the team comes up with a fix at the earliest.
That said, we’ll keep tabs on further developments and update the article accordingly.
