Ever since it was founded in 2006, Twitter has been making news for all sorts of reasons.

With over 330 million monthly active users and around 500 million tweets shared every day, the company generated more than $5 billion in revenue last year.

However, the last few months have been really troublesome for Twitter users, with issues like persistent notification alerts on iOS and some seeing the same tweets in their feed even after refreshing frustrating many.

And as if this wasn’t enough, many Twitter users are facing an issue where they see tweets from blocked or muted accounts in their feed (1,2,3,4,5).

Some initially thought it was a visual bug and tried logging out of their accounts and back but to no avail.

I recently stopped following a video game journalist for political reasons but I would not like to block them because when they aren’t spewing nonsense they actually post informative content about video games, which I would like to occasionally browse. But Twitter keeps notifying me of his “popular” tweets which continue to be drivel. Even though I unfollowed him. Is there any feature that allows me to block notifications from him alone? I don’t want to mute him I still want to browse the tweets. Thanks!

How to fix this glitch? Several times a week I have to go into topics and uncheck them again I’m not sure they keep going back to interested in them. also none of my muted words are actually muted they still show up constantly same with blocked accounts they keep unblocking themselves it’s driving me crazy. Is this a glitch if so how do I fix it ?

Unfortunately, we were not able to find any workaround for the problem.

That said, Twitter Support commented on the matter and said the developers are aware of the issue where some users are seeing tweets from blocked or muted accounts on their feed.

Sorry for the frustration, Jason. Our team is looking into this now.

But they did not share any timeframe on when the glitch will be resolved. We hope the developers find out the root cause of the problem and fix it as soon as they can.

My fascination with technology and computers goes back to the days of Windows XP. Since then, I have been tinkering with OS, mobile phones, and other things. When I am not working on anything, you will find me enjoying video games on some Discord server.
