Google Photos offers smooth and enjoyable user experiences through its brilliant features. It is a commendable storage platform that safely backs up your photos and videos.

However, that’s not where the benefits of Google Photos end, as it also provides many productive features through which you can easily perform tasks such as editing, creating collages, face tagging and much more.

While numerous functions are missing on the Google Photos mobile app due to certain restrictions, you can use the browser to access all the useful features.

In this article, we will guide you through some of the best features that Google Photos has to offer.

Edit date and time

Editing photos is always a priority for users because it improves their pictures. Recently, Google Photos updated one of its functions, allowing the user to edit time and date, a previously unavailable feature.

While it was available on the browser application, the users couldn’t access it on their mobile app.

However, with the new update, you can easily access it through your mobile app. To edit the date and time, swipe up on the image or video and click on the edit button in the right corner.

You can edit the date and time from here. If you can’t see the date and time option, check if your app is updated to the latest version.

Create a collage or movie on Google Photos

Creating a collage or movie has never been easier than it is at Google Photos. Collages and movies prove to be brilliant features that ensure a wonderful user experience.

These collages and movies can serve as great memory refreshers in hindsight, making this a commendable feature. Follow the steps below to create a collage or movie using your pictures:

  • Head over to the library section
  • Tap on utilities
  • Scroll down to the bottom

Google Photos also gives some automated suggestions to create a collage or movie using your photos. The movie also contains music adding to its overall appeal and the original photos didn’t get deleted even if you delete the collage or the movie.

Restore recently deleted photos & videos

We often end up deleting our important photos or videos that are very precious. While we might think that they’re done and dusted, that’s not the case because Google Photos stores these photos in the trash section, where you can restore them within 60 days of deletion.

So if you made the mistake of deleting an important photo or video, you could easily restore it using this feature. To restore your deleted photos or videos, follow the steps below:

  • Head over to the library
  • Click on the trash menu
  • Restore the photo you want

You won’t be able to restore the photo if it has been more than 60 days since you deleted it.
