TikTok is one of the most popular video platforms. It is focused on immediacy through short videos, competing directly against Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Other social platforms like Twitter also tried to adopt TikTok’s short video format with Twitter Fleets. However, in this case, the feature was not well received and the company removed it after a few weeks.

Just like other video platforms, TikTok allows you to leave comments on posts. But currently this function is behaving erratically, according to multiple reports.

Apparently, TikTok comments are not loading or showing for many users, in addition to user comments being automatically deleted or cluttered (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

TikTok comments not loading or showing for many

Multiple reports on social networks like Twitter describe the same situation. The TikTok users comments randomly disappear, are partially loaded or are not loaded at all (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Anybody’s tiktok keep acting up today. When I comment on people’s posts it disappears. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. Then only a few of the comments on people’s posts load. 😩 #TikTok.

In certain cases, TikTok comments appear out of order or on other videos.

No official acknowledgment, some potential workarounds

In case you are experiencing the issue in question, there are some potential workarounds that you can try. For instance, you can restart the app, log out and back in, or reinstall the app entirely.

If you’re one of the unlucky ones though, there are a few methods worth trying to see if it fixes it for you:

-Close the application and reopen it – try fully closing the TikTok app, to see if this is a quick fix
-Log out – logging out and back in again is the next easy option
-Reinstall TikTok – A slightly longer, you could try removing the app from your device, and downloading it again

However, given this bug seems to be widespread, these quick fixes might not make any difference, if it requires a fix from TikTok itself.

However, it’s worth pointing out that the origin of the issue could be on the TikTok servers. So, it is possible that it will continue to be present until the company applies a fix on its platform.

There is still no acknowledgment on the issue from TikTok. We will update this story as new developments emerge on the matter.
