The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 'Gas Station map' dividing community; 'players unable to move or interact' reported

The recently launched new map in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, titled ‘Gas Station,’ has garnered dissatisfaction among players.

On social media platforms like Reddit, complaints emerge about the map. Alongside reports of an issue where players can’t move or interact.

Reports indicate that significant rework is required for the new map ‘Gas Station.

Please remove or move the Gas Station door exit. It really messes up the flow of the match. It is hard to defend to begin with, and especially hard to defend without splitting up the family too much and leaving other exits free. All matches on that map are just a rush fest to that door. It just seems so unnecessary to have. (Source)

On the gas station map, there is an escape on the same side as the generator which only requires the victims to lockpick 2 doors once escaping the basement and doesnt even require you to turn off the generator. This means that survivors who play that map, if they know about it can escape the family using only 3 lockpicks without the family noticing (unless the family is on top of everything). (Source)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre divides players into two groups: Victims and the Slaughter Family, the killers.

Victims strive to escape before the killers catch them, with maps and mechanics enhancing the rat chase experience.

However, the new map appears to lack the balance needed for fair and enjoyable matches.

Players’ feedback (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) underscores that the map is too favorable for victims. Conversely, others believe (1, 2, 3, 4) it makes certain Family Members overpowered.

I have found that Cook is super strong on the Gas Station map. I run a blood gathering build. Placing padlocks on the two gates that separate Exterior from the Compound is crucial to preventing the Victim rush. (Source)

Frustrated by the unfair map, they have shared some suggestions that could help balance the map:

1 – fuses and valves should not spawn inside locked areas only main areas(ex no spawn past the locked gates in gas station or past doors in slaughterhouse , this is unfair to victims

2- Victims should be able to see the fuse exit door permantly until it closes , is a big quality of life improvement for new/intermediate players , and the experient ones already know this.

3- Family should also be able to see the fuse exit door , and be able to manually close it (at the door not the fuse box) , this adds counterplay for family.

4- Family should be able to relock the fusebox , past the first activation fuse box becames way to easy and fast , this way victims would not need another fuse , or reedo the puzzle but they need to reeopen the box before pulling it. (Source)

Some players have found themselves stuck during matches, unable to move or interact for unknown reasons. Consequently, they are kicked out due to inactivity.

why can I move around and open doors but I can’t swing my weapon, collect blood, interact with batteries/gens use my ability or feed grandpa? Is it a glitch or someone else’s perk against me? It went on most of the game and never fixed itself. (Source)

The unable to interact happens when you bleed out while locking a door. After getting up you won’t be able to interact and you also become invincible (Source)

As of now, solid reasons behind these issues have not been identified. In response, the developers have issued an official post asking for more information on the matter.
