The game is reportedly plagued by four different types of network errors:

– ERROR CODE 0x00000538
– ‘Invalid Supplied Credentials’ error
– ‘Network Timeout’ error
– ‘Unable to log into Playfab’ error

These errors impede players from participating in online matches, significantly compromising their gaming experience. The errors also occur when players attempt to invite friends or join private parties

Currently trying to play the game with two friends. My 1st friend and I are able to join and create a party, but my second friend is unable. He keeps getting a network error message once he tries to create/join party, or when he accepts our game invites. (Source)

Official acknowledgement for ‘network error’ in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Sumo Digital’s development team has officially acknowledged one of the four errors.

A recently implemented server-side fix has resolved the “Invalid Supplied Credentials” error.

This morning, the team deployed a server side fix for the “Supplied Credentials are Invalid” error as well as a reconfiguring of servers to allocate for the Australia/Oceania Region. (Source)

On the official Steam forum, a member of the development team mentioned that they are actively investigating server-related issues. This suggests that official fixes for these problems could be on the horizon.

We will closely monitor the situation and provide updates as any further developments arise.

Update 2 (August 30, 2023)

03:55 pm (IST): Some players are now reporting (1, 2, 3, 4) that Network error also appears when trying to create a party. As a result, players are unable to join the parties.

However, there’s a workaround that can fix this problem. You can check it below.

Apparently, those of us who are in the Xbox preview program are having network issues with Texas Chainsaw and that’s why we fail to create or join parties sometimes. Leaving the preview program fixes this. (Source)
