Everytime I try getting into a match, I am immediately booted back to the main menu. With a Network Error message saying “Supplied Credentials are invalid.” Does anyone know what this means? (Source)

Got kicked out of Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4 times in 20 minutes. A game that’s so fun but it’s literally unplayable most of the time bc of missing credentials or lobby dodging or strait up crashing for no reason. (Source)

Released in 2023, Texas Chain Saw Massacre is an asymmetrical survival horror game. Inspired by the 1974 film of the same name.

In this game, participants engage in online matches. Striving to escape from the clutches of three members belonging to the infamous Sawyer family.

Given its multiplayer nature, the game heavily depends on online services.

Regrettably, this new problem, as highlighted in multiple reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), is causing a disruption in the experience for numerous players.

I don’t know about other people, but I’ve gotten this bug that says “the supplied credentials are invalid” and won’t let me join a game after it happens. (Source)

How to fix ‘Invalid Supplied Credentials’ error in Texas Chain Saw Massacre

As these reports have piled up, players have collectively brainstormed various workarounds. Providing potential solutions to this aggravating issue.

One user suggested, the best way to fix the issue is to just restart the game:

The fix to it? Restart the game. It’s fine at first, but after you go through the cycle of playing a few matches, getting the bug and then needing to relaunch the game, it starts get annoying really fast. This bug (at least that’s what hope it is) needs to get fixed pretty soon as it genuinely just ruins the flow of the game between matches. (Source)

However, the fix seems to be temporary. Another user suggested that changing the “Region” setting is the solution:

To fix this bug, type in “Regions” in the Windows search bar. Go into your Regions settings for keyboards and select another keyboard other than “ENG-US”. Then switch back to ENG-US. Once that’s done, exit back to Windows and restart the game. I can finally load into servers normally. If that doesn’t work, try resetting your router and reconnect to steam once that’s completed. On the official Steam forum of the game, one of the members of the developer team shared the following update:

Our team has been working to sort out a couple of issues.

– Matchmaking

– Credentials Errors

– XP Issues

We’re planning to update everyone here once we have more progress on these issues. (Source)

We’ll keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
