“The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” is an asymmetrical survival horror game. Where online matches are the arena for players aiming to escape the clutches of the Slaughter family.

Despite garnering widespread acclaim and positive feedback, this persistent issue is casting a shadow over the game’s reputation.

The crashing issue is present for both console and the PC version of the game.

While console players are reporting the crash happening in mid-game, PC players on steam only seem to witness it during the starting loading screen of the game.

Initially, these crashes were reportedly infrequent during the game’s launch. However, due to some unknow issues this problem has became quite prevalent. Causing havoc for players in recent times (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Some players are even asserting that these crashes have gained prominence after the ‘invite bug’ fix.

It was a bug that previously caused lobbies to exceed the intended limit of six players.

Now fix the crashing issues. This game didn’t crash one time for the first 30+ hours I played and bow it has crashed multiple times after you fixed the invites (Source)

How to fix the The Texas Chain Saw Massacre crashing issue on PC (via Steam)?

As concerns continue to accumulate, the game’s developers have taken steps to address the problem with an official interim solution:

Are you on Steam? If so, here’s a current, temporary workaround until a full fix is implemented: Try rebooting the application, steam, and your PC. If you have any GPU software, that can cause some issues getting on. Try disabling anything like MSI Afterburner, etc. (Source)

However, this fix is only applicable to PC players using Steam. Also, the results from this fix may only be temporary.

Nonetheless, in the same post devs have promised that they are working on a “full fix” for the issue.

We’ll keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
