Ubisoft’s 2023 racing video game, The Crew Motorfest, reportedly presents players with an unusual problem.

Being a racing-based video game where cars play a vital role, the viewing mirrors attached to these cars are causing frustration among players.

According to players (1, 2, 3, 4), these mirrors are so blurry and foggy that they cannot see anything through them.

This bug not only frustrates players but also disrupts their immersion when using the cockpit viewing mode.

Why are mirrors not working in The Crew Motorfest?<

The Crew Motorfest offers two camera views: the normal third-person view and the cockpit view.

In the cockpit view, players drive their cars from the inside, with a detailed dashboard and steering wheel in front of them.

However, this mode no longer provides the immersion players desire due to the blurry and foggy mirrors inside the car.

According to one player, the mirrors are foggy because the game’s engine is unable to support them:

Their engine simply does not support it and they did not make it work in motorfest either (Source)

So far, there has been no official statement regarding this issue. Therefore, it is unclear what is causing this problem or how to fix it.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update if there are any further developments.

Update 1 (September 18, 2023)

05:50 pm (IST): One of our readers has reportedly contacted the support team where they were told that this is an intended behavior, and it won’t get fixed.

Ubisoft responded to me on X about this. They said they have no comments about the issue. Basically it’s not a bug. It’s intentional and there will be no fix for it. Due to this, the game is completely unplayable. It deserves a 1/10 if I’m being extremely generous.
