One of the most popular instant messaging services, Telegram, has been surfaced with an issue on the Oppo and Realme devices.

Notably, due to this bug, the media files sent and received over the Telegram application are getting saved to the smartphone’s Gallery, even though the “Save to Gallery” function is disabled in the Settings menu.

Telegram has already acknowledged this issue via a tweet on the micro-blogging website, stating that the last update on Oppo devices is causing the issue and though it is not related to the Telegram app, developers are looking into this matter.

Check out the full tweet below:

The latest update of Android Oppo devices is causing them to ignore Telegram’s instructions to not add media to the gallery when ‘Save to Gallery’ is disabled in Settings.

While the problem is beyond our app, the dev team is looking into possible solutions.
