Major companies laying off their employees has become a recent trend nowadays. We have already seen Twitter and Meta adopt this practice.

It’s been alleged that the newest in line is T-Mobile with a prominent T-Force customer service staff that was recently cut by over 70%. In fact, the company has let go of hundreds more workers.

T-Force layoff leaves T-Mobile users concerned about longer wait times

Surprisingly enough, the total number of T-Mobile call centers across the country has only been reduced to 5 from 17.

Resultantly, T-Mobile users are concerned about higher wait times when five service centers are left after the alleged layoffs.

I don’t know what other carrier I should be considering at this point if not T-Mobile. I’m not sure this issue alone will cause a problem for me, however I do not appreciate waiting 40+ minutes to get help from somebody in whatever country they happen to be in.

The unexpected revelation also prompted a lot of people to share their recent terrible experiences with T-Mobile. One of them said that they had to go through 8 overseas employees over 3 days to finally get a solution.

Moreover, a verified employee came out on Reddit to testify to this news. They claimed that the majority of their leadership is offline, and when people checked in to work, they discovered that they were locked out of the system.

Nonetheless, users are not pleased with this move and are questioning T-Mobile for their lack of proper communication.

Here’s the official statement

It looks like T-Mobile has finally responded on the matter and according to them, they are not laying off, but rather relocating some of their employees.

They also said that workers who are unable to relocate are given the opportunity to take on alternative roles within the organization. You can check out the entire quote below:

To make our best-in-class online support team even more effective and collaborative for customers, we are bringing our previously geographically dispersed online support team (T-Force) physically together into five designated Customer Experience Center locations across the country.

As online support remains a priority and we plan to stay fully staffed, we hope as many of our employees as possible stay on with us. To support them, we have offered relocation packages. Those who are unable to move are eligible for alternate roles at T-Mobile. We will provide those who choose to leave the company with transition support and anticipate very few departures.

Staffs have until June 12 to determine whether or not to relocate. Additionally, it appears that T-Mobile will continue to pay staff for the following week while they decide.

With this, we hope that people reading this article get some clarity about the current layoff situation. We also hope for T-Mobile will shed some light on the matter related to longer wait times after alleged T-Force layoffs.
